HEY NEW 6TH GRADERS!!

Hey 6th graders! If you are reading this it means that you are about to begin you "Signs Of Spring Journal"! Now I know as a past 6th grader I thought blogging was going to be so hard! But as i kept writing it was the coolest thing ever! It was so fun going around and taking pictures for the blog! As you know I am in 7th grade and can not continue in writing in my own blog. But I am hoping you will blog as well. Now I am going to let you in on 3 valuable tips 1. Work hard and write a lot. 2. Wahhhhhh I am so sad that this is my last post. I loved doing the blog and can remember all the posts back in Feb. Well lets kick off the final sign of spring post. OMG I was so active this long weekend. My first sign of spring was going mini golfing with my mom and dad. The we went to Salem Ma for lunch. We always go there on memorial day. Sadly my mom beat us at mini golf. She got lucky. This summer I have my game face on!!! Also on Saturday I got to go to a Portland Sea dogs game. Baseball games are always a sign of spring for me. my friend Kyra has a cousin who is a pitcher on the team. I think that is so cool. Afterward we went back to Kyra hotel and swam it was so nice. Swimming is such a sign of spring. We ate pizza with her cousin Tommy(the pitcher). When I got home I was so tiered. Also the talent show and field day at school is coming back that is a sign of spring because of all the outdoor activities. The last sign of spring is watching the memorial day special on PBS. That is a sign of spring because I watch it every year and it makes me think of all the soldiers who fight for us. Well I think I am done with this blog but I am starting a new blog. Summertime fun. Lots of places!!

This week in the world of spring I felt like it was summer. The nice warm weather. This week I had so many things going on. For my first sign of spring I went to my fav restaurant. It was called The Village. It has the best seafood. Next I my dad found the coolest thing. He found a little bees nest in our shed. It was filled with little eggs breaking in front of our eyes. Next I had mt dance recital. It was so fun. I got my 5 year trophy. It is actually my 8th year dancing. But my 5th at this particular dance school. I promise this is the last post that has to do with my dancing!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha!! Another sign of spring is a family friend son is graduating from high school. Wow it will be a while before I graduate. Another sign of spring is that Memorial day is coming up. My dad, mom, and myself all go to the cemetery to plant flowers on my papa Ralph's grave. He was in the air force. I wish I got to meet him. Another sign of spring is that June is almost here. That sounds weired talking about a summer month. But it is a sign to me because it lets me almost start of my count down to school being over. Well can not wait for spring to turn into summer! Whoooooo!

Wow were already on our ninth sign of spring where does the time go. Well this week I went on a little getaway with my mom. We went up to Ogunquit, Maine. We had so much fun. We went to the beach, got ice cream, walked around town, and more. I sign of spring I found up there was that the piping plovers up there would soon hatch again. Now they have a little reserve for animals up there to lay eggs. I think that is very cool. Next I got to have my favorite ice cream up there!! Real Maine blueberry ice cream yeah!!! Then I went to the beach how I love it so. Actually the first time I have been back to the beach after winter. I was so happy reading my book on the sand!! OK now my dad is back on his spring fever list. He has had his mow out. He painted in my new closet in my hall. Also he handled the Bruins loss well. What a worker. Next I was planing some activities for the upcoming Memorial Day. That is always a sign of spring! Even better no school!! Another sign of spring is my friends birthday she has the best. It was always so warm on her birthday! I got some color today from the nice warm sun!! Yeah! I just came back from a cook out too! First of the season. Wow what a spring filled day I had!! Oh one last thing another dance competition I am so ready for a nap!!

My house.

For this weeks sign of spring I found less then I expected. But one thing I found was some snake skin in my front yard. The garden snake must of been shedding for its summer skin. Next was my dance comp. We did really well. This always reminds me of spring because competitions come at the end of the dance year. Another sign of spring is Arts fest. After my schools chorus performance in the winter we work for our spring concert which is tomorrow. Hope the teachers go easy on us for homework!! Ok now another sign of spring to me is the Boston marathon. I know I used a picture from there but that was a race the day before. I love watching it and seeing all the people running for their own causes. Next April vacation is coming up and I know I am so excited!!! In 4th grade I went to Washington D.C. I went to the Arlington cemetery. It was so HOT!!!! I hope to go back soon. Next a lot of my moms flowers are starting to come in. It is sort of like march showers bring April flowers. My tree in my front yard is starting to bloom. My mom and I think it is confused. My last sign of spring is my Diary Of Ann Frank field trip. I know it does not sound like a sign of spring but I have been waiting for it before spring had really started!!! I can't wait!!!

Well this week in my signs of spring world was first HAPPY EASTER!!! Easter has come and gone and that was truly a sign of spring for me!!! But first a big sign of spring for me was going to my dance showcase! It is always in the spring and it was a lot of fun. I was doing a tap dance to rocking around the Christmas tree the day before Easter!! Ha ha ha!! I was a elf!! The dancers were so good! Some people were in 7 dances they were amazing! Next lets go back to Easter. It was so warm for Easter! I loved the weather and the day ended beautifully!! I got some nice gifts from family!! It was a great day. Next this weather is amazing!! I heard that tomorrow the temperature would get up to 84!! I am so excited! More time to wear shorts earlier in the year. The nature around my house is crazy! Birds chirping at all hours it seems like. I knew some birds from BOTW so it was easy telling which one was which! My dad and I had a conversation about why birds migrate?? We had a lot of great ideas?? Why do you think birds migrate?? Now since the weather was so nice we let my cat outside for once she went crazy with just playing with a leaf!

This weeks sign of spring are great first ITS SPRING. I am so happy the blog is finally living up ti its name. Whoooooooooo!!! Now what I saw for a sign of spring first my cousin found some Pussy willows. They were so soft and that is one plant that makes me think of spring. Next some wild flowers were popping up in front of my house. There colors were purple and yellow they were so pretty. Also the weather a couple Saturdays ago were in the 70's I was wearing shorts with my friends jumping on a trampoline it was so fun!!! Next my cat Salem was starting to shed her hair. I found some on my couch and then my dad vacuumed it up. Also Palm Sunday was just this past Sunday. I got a lot of that. Good Friday is always a sign of spring for me. NO SCHOOL!!!! Also my Nana was talking about are Easter meal my uncle is bringing rack of lamb. Ewwwww! Lastly today's weather was kinda of chilly but it will warm up at the end of this week. I heard 79 degrees Fahrenheit!!! Well can't wait to really get into spring!!

This week I found different varieties of spring. This week a Tufted Titmouse was in my window.

I wish I took a picture of it but I did not want to leave the window. Another sign of spring that occurred was day light savings time. I was sad that I was losing my hour of Zzz!!! But my way of remembering daylight is "Fall back Spring forward" as words of my great grand father! Another sign of spring was a saw a little spider coming out of my room and I knew spring was coming. A sign of spring I also noticed was my window in my house was not creaking a lot due to the cold. I am so happy that I can I have a nice quiet sleep. My last sign of spring is my Nana and I went shopping for some spring clothes and they all had short selves and I was like thank heavens my favorite types of clothes are back.

My house/Outside.

A sign of spring I noticed this week was the warm temperature. Today it was 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Also yesterday my thermometer in my car almost hit 60 degrees Fahrenheit. I was so excited. Now my moms birthday was this past weekend that always makes me think of how close spring is getting. Also she got a cake made out of flowers with a lot of flowers that I usually plant in April. Next I put away my snow people I have for winter and took out all my Easter decorations. I was sad that they were being put away but when I saw all the cute bunnies in my spring box I was like see ya later snow men. Another sign of spring that was coming up at my house was my mom bought a light up sign that says Happy St.Patrick's Day!!!! It is so cool. I think only 9 days until me and my papa sit down for boiled dinner. Yum Yum!!! My last sign of spring is the hockey east play offs. Both my mom and dads schools made it in. So I am not going to take sides. But when the play offs happen that means that the there season is almost over. Now make room for spring sports. Can't wait until my mom and I start practicing for field hokey!!!!

Maine/My house

A sign of spring I saw when I went up in Maine was the sand over powered the snow. So that shows that even if it is colder in Maine that does not change the speed of the melting. Also because the snow has been melting, freezing melting, freezing. Also a sign of spring to me is the sign at my favorite motel in Maine called the Milestones. The sign says see you in the spring. So that to me means that when they put the sign up it is getting closer to opening. Another sign of spring I noticed was today I was walking down the bridge to my house I slipped on some ice. but the ice itself did not make me slip there was water on top of it. Like a puddle. Puddles do remind me of spring. They do because a nice rain fall in April I have tons of puddles around my street. Today it was 38 degrees and the wind was 20mph. So it was not that bad today on weather terms. My last sign of spring is when I was looking at my dads Madel from a race he did the day before the Boston Marathon. I remember how cold it was in April. But when the sun was out very warm. I just can't wait until the warm weather of spring.

My house/Yard

Today what I observed as signs of spring were first when I was walking home I noticed my tree had some buds on it. So did my bush. I also saw how snow in my yard felt damp. It had defiantly melted over the past couple days. Even though it has been really cold. Today it was 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I was so surprised the snow was melting. But the sun was shining head on. Today the wind speed was 15mph. It was not that bad for me. There has been no rainfall today but if it did it would probably have rained with a mix of snow. Also when I got home I could see that my mom had started to fold up the snowman blanket. It is sad to see it go. But I will see the spring blanket out soon. I also saw my Fenway park sign in my basement which always reminds me of spring. Lastly when I went out side to fix my flag I could smell real cold crisp air. But I felt a small warm sensation which told me spring was on its way.

Welcome to my signs of spring blog!!! In my science class I have to look for signs of spring around my town. I have to do this for the rest of the school year.
